That's all from Belmont Park - and all from me here. Thanks for following this historic event right here on VAVEL. This is Aaron Durant saying so-long!

The race results are official: American Pharoah, Frosted, and Keen Ice finished as the top three.

Victor Espinoza turned 43 just two weeks ago. He is the oldest jockey to win the Triple Crown.

The lead that American Pharoah maintained throughout the first lap of the race gave the feeling that he would be passed as the field reached the final stretch. It ended up being an ideal race, leading from start to finish, and carving the name "American Pharoah" into the history books. The Triple Crown has been completed for the first time in 37 years.

Victor Espinoza says he drank some Monster Energy before the race and hoped American Pharoah had as much energy as he did! It seemed like he did; American Pharoah led wire-to-wire, and the stamina that he just displayed is incredible.

Victor Espinoza: "It's just unbelievable how things work out . . . I came into the race with so much confident the last three times."

6:56 pm ET: He did it! American Pharoah has ended the 37-year wait for a Triple Crown winner!

6:55 pm ET: AMERICAN PHAROAH HAS WON THE TRIPLE CROWN!

6:54 pm ET: A TWO LENGTH LEAD.

6:54 pm ET: American Pharoah continues his strong lead - but is he getting tired? Will he make it? Coming to the final stretch.

6:53 pm ET: American Pharoah leads the way in the large, sweeping first turn. Materiality runs second and Mubtaahij is third. Keen Ice and Frosted are next.

6:52 pm ET: AND THEY'RE OFF! The Belmont Stakes is underway!

6:50 pm ET: The horses are coming to the gates. It's almost go time!

6:40 pm ET: The horses are all on the track! Just minutes from the race.

6:35 pm ET: Riders up! The jockeys are mounting on their horses and heading out to the track.

6:07 pm ET: The next race at Belmont Park will be the big one: the Belmont Stakes. Stay tuned for more.

6:00 pm ET: Post time for the Belmont Stakes is just 40 minutes away. The question is still hanging in the air: will American Pharoah win the Triple Crown?

It's time for some racing at Belmont Park

As the race draws nearer today, Belmont Stakes live info for more insight, analysis, and predicitons of the eight horses in the field and the race itself.

Post time for today's Belmont Stakes is at 6:40 pm ET. Belmont Park's 1 1/2 mile track could be the site of great history today. As the day goes on and the race nears, continue to check here for the updated odds of the eight horses in the field.

Today is the final race of the thoroughbred racing's Triple Crown, and, if won by American Pharoah, the Triple Crown would be completed for the first time in nearly four decades. Victor Espinoza will be jockeying the horse that everyone will be watching today, making an attempt to win the Triple Crown just like he did last year riding California Chrome. Of course, that horse and Espinoza were unable to get it done - but today could be different.

A rundown of each of the eight horses competing in today's race is below.

1. American Pharoah (2-3)

This is the 14th horse that has entered New York with a shot at winning the coveted Triple Crown since 1978. Each of those previous 13 times have seen the horse come up short - including last year, in the form of California Chrome. No argument can be made: American Pharoah is the greatest horse of his generation, and the seven-length win he took at the Preakness Stakes perhaps solidified his greatness. This afternoon could feature incredible history, but trainer Bob Baffert has been both calm and confident throughout this week, per Bleacher Report. "The main thing is that the horse is doing well," he told Jeremy Balan of Blood-Horse. This horse is naturally the biggest headline entering this race; watch for American Pharoah to perhaps win the Belmont Stakes and the first Triple Crown in 37 years today.

2. Frosted (6-1)

This horse is perhaps the biggest threat in American Pharoah's Triple Crown bid. He won the Wood Memorial and was the only horse of the 18 that was making up significant ground in the final stretch of the Kentucky Derby, where he finished fourth. This late-break style is not ideal for the Belmont, but Joel Rosario, an aggressive rider, will be jockeying this horse and could finish in a better position than many are anticipating. Additionally, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin won the 2006 Belmont Stakes with the horse Jazil. Perhaps the three races that American Pharoah has competed in in the last five weeks took their toll on the Triple Crown hopeful; if so, Frosted will be right there to pick up the pieces and complete the upset.

3. Materiality (13-2)

This horse won the Florida Derby in just his third career start, but did not perform as well in Lousville, finishing sixth to American Pharoah and losing by 7 3/4 lengths. Hall of Fame jockey John Velasquez was aboard him for his first three career starts but elected to ride Carpe Diem in the Kentucky Derby. Trainer Afleet Alex won both the Preakness and Belmont Stakes in 2005.

4. Madefromlucky (16-1)

Instead of racing at the Kentucky Derby, trainer Todd Pletcher fielded this horse in the Peter Pan (G2), and the colt came out as the impressive winner. American Pharoah soundly beat him in both of his two starts at Oaklawn Park, but he is coming of a career-best finish and has won this race twice. To pull of an upset today, Todd Pletcher (trainer) will need another career-best out of this horse.

5. Tale of Verve (20-1)

This horse beat his odds of 28-1 to finish second at the Preakness Stakes, as trainer Dallas Stewart knows how to complete a surprise finish in a Triple Crown race; his horses finished second at the Kentucky Derby in both 2013 and 2014 (Commanding Curve & Golden Soul). He is confident that this horse can go the distance. "He can take it. He's got the stamina, he's got the pedigree," he said, per Sean Morris of NYRA.com. "I think he's got the ability, so it's going to be a real good race for him. I'm feeling real good about it."

6. Mubtaahij (14-1)

The same 14-1 odds were what this horse was up against at the Kentucky Derby after being shipped from Dubai to Lousville, Kentucky, but he lost the race by 9 1/2 lengths and was not a threat. Rather than heading back home, he stayed in the U.S. to prepare for today's race with Michael De Kock, one of the best trainers there is. After the five week break, he seems likely to perform better than at his U.S. debut at the Kentucky Derby, and will be ridden by Irad Ortiz Jr.

7. Keen Ice (25-1)

This horse was near the back of the pack in the Kentucky Derby, entering the race with 45-1 odds, but passed a few foes to finish in 7th position, losing the race by 8 3/4 lengths from the winner, American Pharoah. The colt has lost six starts in a row with his first win coming at Churchill Downs last September.

8. Frammento (40-1)

Hall of Famer Nick Zito is the trainer of this horse, and he's won the Belmont Stakes twice, but this colt was not a threat at the Kentucky Derby with an 11th place finish and has now lost six races in a row. “I think we’re a live long shot,” Zito said, per Jim Dunleavy of the Daily Racing Form. “He’s coming up to this race the right way. He’s holding good flesh, and that’s what you need to win the Belmont—a nice, strong horse.”

A small field of just eight horses will partake in today's Belmont Stakes. Let's go in depth on each horse (above).

Today, the Triple Crown could be won for the first time in almost four decades. After dominant wins at the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, American Pharoah heads to Belmont Park with the shot at being the first horse to win the Triple Crown since Affirmed did 37 years ago. Entering today's race as the 3-5 morning-line favorite, things are looking good for American Pharoah, the 13th horse since 1979 to come to Belmont with a shot at the Triple Crown, but today could end just like it did for California Chrome last year. The biggest question entering the race: will history be made, or will American Pharoah miss out like California Chrome did just one year ago?
