After a 11-inning thriller on Saturday night, the St Paul Saints hosted the Fargo Moorhead Rredhawks for the third and final game of the series. St Paul won on Friday and Fargo won on Saturday, which set up the third and decisive game on Sunday afternoon.

The Redhawks would get on the board first in the second inninng when Joe Dunigan hit a solo home run to to left center field to give Fargo a lead. The lead wouldn't last long  as the Saints would respond in the bottom of the inning when Dan Kaczrowski led off with a walk. Mitch Elliott followed that up by reaching on a error by the pitcher Tyler Alexander. Kaczrowski would score when Alonzo Harris flew out to the center fielder to tie the game. Eliott would score and give the Saints the lead a few batters later when Willie Argo singled to right field.

The Saints would score again in the sixth inning when Kaczrowski led off the inning with a single to center field. He would advance to second when Elliott grounded out to the pitcher. Kaczrowski would then advance to third when Alonzo Harris singled to center field. Anthony Phillips would then fly out to the right fielder Joe Dunigan to drive in Kaczrowski and extend the Saints lead to 3-1.

Fargo would make the game interesting in the seventh when Joe Staley hit a solo home run to left field to cut the Saints lead to one run. Pedro Hernandez would recover as he retired the next two batters to end the inning with only one run allowed.

Other than the two home runs, Hernandez was lights out as he went eight innings, only giving up the two runs, while scattering seven hits. He also racked up nine strikeouts in his quality start. The eight innings is the longest he has lasted in his eight starts so far this season, and it came at a time where the Saints bullpen has been used heavily, especially earlier in the week in Lincoln.

Ryan Rodebaugh would come in to pitch the ninth inning for the Saints, and he would retire all three Redhawk batters he would face to give the Saints a 3-2 victory. With the victory, the Saints won the series, their 13th series win of the season.

The win gives the Saints a 33-9 record on the season, while Fargo drops to a 12-31 record. The Saints remain at home this week as they host the newly formed Ottawa Champions of the Can-Am league. Fargo will return home to host the Winnepeg Goldeyes starting Monday.
