"Nimmo? Where's Brandon Nimmo?"

If anyone has shown up to a Binghamton Mets' game over the past two days and has failed to find 2015 All-Star Futures Game selection Brandon Nimmo on the field, it is not due to his getting lost in the big blue sea but, rather, because he was finally promoted to the Triple-A Las Vegas 51s on Tuesday.

Nimmo, who was selected with the 13th overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft by the New York Mets, has had a decent 2015 campaign so far, yet it has been anything but perfect.

To start the season, the six-foot, three-inch outfielder with a cannon for an arm simply had trouble putting bat on ball and was 2 for 20 at the dish after his first five games. Nimmo, though, was able to persevere through the rough time and jumped his .100 batting average to .297 in less than a month and a half.

Sadly, though, just as everything was coming together for the Mets' #3 prospect, he sprained his ACL on May 15. Although the ailment consumed just over a month of his season, Nimmo was back to doing what he does best: getting on base and scoring runs. He was 2 for 4 with two doubles, two runs scored -- quite a performance -- in his Double-A return.

Since going back to Binghamton, the 22-year old has been selected as an Eastern League All-Star, invited to the All-Star Futures Game in Cincinnati, and (most importantly) promoted to Las Vegas for an opportunity to play in the best-hitting league in Minor League Baseball, the Pacific Coast League

Nimmo has made an immediate impact for the 51s as in his Triple-A debut he contributed to a 14-2 victory by getting on base three times (one hit, two walks), scoring a run, and driving in one as well.

Although MLB.com's 84th top prospect had a hitless second game at the Triple-A level Wednesday night, fans can find and watch Nimmo try to start another hit streak versus the Sacramento River Cats (Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants) tonight at Raley Field in Northern California.
