Wily Peralta completed another solid outing, Aramis Ramirez contributed with a HR and the Milwaukee Brewers managed to get past the challenge of the San Diego Padres at Miller Park.

The right-hander pitched a strong game in 6.2 innings, the offense did their job and the bullpen closed it out as the Brewers topped the Padres by a 4-3 score in front of their fans.

The win puts the Brewers at top of the NL Central with a 15-5 record. They also have the best record in all of baseball thanks to their timely offense, good starting pitching and a very solid bullpen.

The Brewers hit Padres’ starter Andrew Cashner hard with three runs in the third inning. An RBI triple from Scooter Gennett, a sac fly from Ryan Braun and a solo shot from Aramis Ramirez put Milwaukee up by three early in the game.

The Padres would come back quickly though. An RBI single from Yodier Alonso and an RBI groundout from Chris Denorfia shorten the gap to only one run but Milwaukee answered in the sixth. An RBI single from Ryan Braun – scored by Carlos Gomez, who finally played after Sunday brawl against the Pirates – restored the Brewers’ lead to two runs.

Milwaukee’s bullpen was solid to close things out. Francisco Rodriguez did another stellar job in the ninth to get his eighth save this year and the Brewers moved up 10 games over .500 in what has been a great start to the season for them so far.

The Brewers sit at the top of the NL Central and not even the most optimistic fan expected them to be in that place. It remains to be seen if they will maintain that pace but they seem equipped to do so through a long 162-game season.
