Despite Tuesday's game going into Wednesday, the Arizona Diamondbacks couldn't maintain the offense they had going as they lost to the Cleveland Indians 6-1, splitting the two game series.

The Indians scored a run in each of the first three innings and a run in five of the first seven. Michael Bourn led off the game with a triple and was brought home on a Asdrubal Cabrera sacrifice fly. Yan Gomes hit a solo homer in the second inning. Michael Bourn repeated what he did in the first inning, hitting a triple again down the right field line. Michael Brantley brought him home again, this time on a RBI groundout. Brantley went on to homer in the fifth inning.

All four runs were off Chase Anderson, handing him his third straight loss of the season. Anderson made it through just five innings, giving up seven hits and three walks. Corey Kluber was lights out against the D-backs, throwing seven shutout innings, striking out eight while only giving up four hits.

Zeke Spruill, who was just brought up after Jordan Pacheco landed on the 15 day disabled list due to a shoulder injury, pitched four innings of relief, giving up two runs in the process. Both runs came in the seventh, one from a Jason Kipnis RBI double and the other from a Lonnie Chisenhall RBI single.

The D-backs finally got a run in the ninth on a Miguel Montero RBI single.

Arizona gets Thursday off before heading to San Diego to start a three game weekend series against the Padres. Brandon McCarthy will do battle against Tyson Ross.
