Although he didn't earn the win, Trevor Cahill contained the Chicago Cubs just enough in his return to allow the Arizona Diamondbacks to comeback and defeat the Cubs 5-4 on Friday night.

Cahill allowed three earned runs on four hits and two walks throughout his five inning outing. All of his runs given up were scored by the Cubs in the fourth inning. Anthony Rizzo blasted a two run homer and Ryan Sweeney had a RBI single in the fourth, to give the Cubs a 3-0 lead.

The D-backs finally got to Edwin Jackson in the fifth inning, scoring two runs on RBI singles from Didi Gregorious and Nick Evans. Anthony Rizzo answered with his second home run of the night, a solo shot off Eury De La Rosa in the sixth. Arizona retaliated with a three run bottom half. Paul Goldschmidt was hit on the hand amidst a check swing on a high and inside pitch from Edwin Jackson. On the next pitch Goldschmidt hit a solo home run to right field. Later in the inning Gerardo Parra's sacrifice fly tied the game and Didi Gregorious hit what turned out to be the game winning RBI single to make it 5-4.

Game two of the series on Saturday will feature a pair of lefties in Wade Miley and Travis Wood.
