Mike Leake had the Arizona Diamondbacks looking baffled during Tuesday night's game, where the Cincinnati Reds shutout the D-backs 3-0. Leake held Arizona to just five hits during his 7 2/3 innings of work, while striking out eight.

Trevor Cahill did not pitch all that bad in what turned out to be his ninth loss of the season. Cahill threw six quality innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits. The Reds scored in the first two innings on RBI singles from Todd Frazier and Mike Leake. Brayan Pena's RBI single in the sixth finished off the D-backs.

Wednesday's rubber match will feature a pitching matchup of Wade Miley and Alfredo Simon. Simon has pitched well against Arizona in his five appearances, sporting a 2-0 record and a 1.88 ERA.
