Hyun-Jin Ryu led the Dodgers surge in the series finale of a home and home series with the Angels. The Dodgers dropped the first game, but stormed back and won the next three, including both games at Angels Stadium. Ryu was magnificent in the 7-0 Dodgers' win, his thirteenth of the season.

Ryu made his way through seven innings, surrendering only two hits while striking out four Angel batters. Ryu now sits with a 3.21 ERA and picks up a big victory in the rotation. Jamey Wright picked up the relief duty, contributing to the scoreless game put together by the Dodgers staff. Pedro Baez put the finishing touches on the game in the ninth.

The Dodger offense was hammering away at the Angels staff while Ryu was doing his work on the mound. Justin Turner drew a one out walk in the third and moved to second base on a single from Yasiel Puig. Puig finished the game going 2-5. Adrian Gonzalez walked to load the bases for Hanley Ramirez, who singled on a liner to center field to bring in Turner and Puig to take the 2-0 lead. Ramirez had a great night, going 3-5 with two RBI’s. Matt Kemp’s sacrifice fly scored Gonzalez for a 3-0 lead at the end of the third.

Kemp walked in the sixth and was driven in by a Juan Uribe double to center field. The boys in blue added two more insurance runs in the eighth inning for a commanding 6-0 lead. A.J. Ellis and Miguel Rojas both singled, and Turner walked to load the bases for the second time in the game. Puig struck out, but Gonzalez followed with a single to drive in Ellis and Rojas. Gonzalez recorded two RBI’s with two hits in his five plate appearances.

The blowout continued with a Carl Crawford single in the ninth. Crawford moved to second on a wild throw and was driven in by a Rojas two out single for the 7-0 lead. Rojas was 2-5 with an RBI in the shortstop position. It was a 13 hit night for the Dodgers, going 4-12 with runners in scoring position, leaving 12 runners on base.

The Dodgers acquired right hander Roberto Hernandez from the Philadelphia Phillies for two players to be named later and cash considerations. Hernandez will make his Dodger debut tomorrow against the Brewers in place of the injured Josh Beckett. The boys in blue begin the three game series in Milwaukee with the Brewers, who sit behind the 66-50 Dodgers for the best record in the National League.
