Bottom 6, 1 Out: Weaver strikes out his seventh batter, as Vogt K's.

Bottom 6, 0 Outs: Fuld flies out to CF to start the 6th inning.

Bottom 6, 0 Outs: Sam Fuld, Stephen Vogt, and Brandon Moss are due up in the bottom of the inning for the A's, who probably would like to see a few runs cross the plate to get the shutout/blowout out of their collective heads as they head to Houston tonight after the game.

Bottom 5, 2 Outs: Coco flies out to CF to end the inning.  Angels 8, A's 0 through 5 innings.

Bottom 5, 2 Outs: A Sogard - Parrino bottom of the lineup is going to get the A's offense in trouble over the long haul.  Sogard is just north of .200 on the season and Parrino is batting .154 during his time in the majors.  With that, Parrino comes through with a hit to CF to keep the inning alive for Coco Crisp.

Bottom 5, 1 Out: Weaver strikes out Callaspo for his sixth K on the evening.

Top 5, 2 Outs: The A's finally get Calhoun, as he flies out to short LF to end the inning.

Top 5, 0 Outs: Coach Bob Melvin says nothing is wrong with Josh Donaldson and he might be in the lineup tomorrow.

Top 4, 0 Outs: Albert Pujols singles to CF and the Angels take a 6-0 lead.  Trout was running on the play and winds up at third base.

Top 4, 0 Outs: To clarify, Kazmir is leaving because of his struggles on the mound.  The ball looked to hit off his heel but also may have caught the mound.

Top 4, 0 Outs: Mike Trout hits the ball up the middle and off of Kazmir.  It will be 1st and 3rd with no outs with Jesse Chavez taking over on the mound.  Kazmir gives up 9 hits, 5 ER's on 61 pitches.

8:28 PM ET: Replay shows the ball hit the top of the wall.

8:28 PM ET: The Angels take a 2-0 lead on a two-run double by Erick Aybar.  Questionable whether or not that cleared the fence and came back.

7:20 PM ET: The American League West race looks to be one of baseball's best races as the chase for October hits the final month.  Tonight's battle will continue the Athletics momentum or could allow the Angels to halt the slide and move back in front in the AL West.

7:19 PM ET: Look for the Athletics to trot out a completely different lineup against the right hander, as they have faced two left handers (Hector Santiago and CJ Wilson) on Friday and Saturday night.  Coco Crisp, the Athletics best hitter since the Yoenis Cespedes trade to the Boston Red Sox at the trading deadline last July 31, is batting a career .175 against Weaver while Bob Melvin continues to use platoon roles for his day to day lineup based on pitching match-ups and we shouldn't expect that to change on Sunday night.

7:18 PM ET: Weaver is 0-2 in his two starts against the Athletics.  Weaver has been tagged for 9 ER's in just 11.1 IP in those two starts.  In a no-decision in his last start on Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox, Weaver worked 5 1/3 innings while giving up three runs on five hits.  Weaver also tied his season high with five walks.

7:17 PM ET: Tonight's starting pitchers are Scott Kazmir (14-5) for the Athletics while the Angels go with Jered Weaver (13-7) on the mound.  Kazmir, who pitched for the Angels from 2009-2011,  is coming off a win over the New York Mets in his last start and his 14 wins sets a career high.  The Athletics lefty was on target in his six innings against the Mets, striking out six while giving up just one earned run.  Tonight will be Kazmir's first start of the season against the Angels.  Kazmir has just one career start against the Angels.  He last faced his former team while a member of the Cleveland Indians on 08/09/13.  In the game, Kazmir was roughed up for five runs in just three innings of work in the 5-2 Angels win.

7:16 PM ET: Heading into Sunday night's game, the Athletics have taken eight of 11 from the Angels in 2014 including all five matchups at home.  The Athletics have outscored the Angels at O.co by a combined score of 33-15.  With a win tonight, the Athletics will have swept consecutive three-game series from the Angels. The teams will meet next weekend in Anaheim for a four game series, followed by one more three game series in Oakland towards the end of the regular season.

7:15 PM ET: We're live for tonight's battle for AL West supremacy, as the Los Angeles Angels (76-52) and Oakland Athletics (76-52) take over Sunday Night Baseball from O.co Coliseum in Oakland, CA.  The Athletics have taken the first two games in the series in somewhat dramatic fashion.  With the two victories on Friday and Saturday, the Athletics have regained some momentum and have tied the Angels for the AL West lead and for the best record in all of Major League Baseball.
