The Atlanta Braves have announced, via their team's Twitter feed, that they have decided to fire general manager Frank Wren. To replace Wren, the Braves have named senior advisor John Hart the team's interim general manager. Along with Hart, team president John Schuerholz and former manager Bobby Cox will conduct a complete search to find the team's next permanent general manager.

A very likely candidate to take over as the permanent general manager is assistant general manager John Coppolella. Hart is a big fan of Coppolella's work as assistant GM, so it could be assumed that he is at the top of their list, at the moment.

Wren had been a member of the Braves' since 2000, being hired as Schuerholz’s assistant GM, before being promoted to the team's general manager following the 2007 season, when Shuerholz was promoted to president of the organization.
