The Detroit Tigers (86-69) take on the Chicago White Sox (71-84) in a pivotal series against the weaker AL Central team. The Tigers send Kyle Lobstein (1-0, 3.58 ERA) and the Sox will send Chris Bassitt (0-1, 5.29 ERA) to the mound to face off against the hot hitting Tigers.

Detroit has been led by the hitting of J.D. Martinez. He is batting .577 during a seven-game hitting streak. Torii Hunter is batting .406 over his recent seven-game hitting streak. They have both been swinging hot bats and carrying the Tigers thought the stretch where they have won nine of 13.

"Hopefully we'll come home and it'll get loud," Hunter said. "It's going to be fun. It shouldn't be hard to get pumped up. If you don't have that adrenaline now you're not human. You should check your pulse."

Both of these pitchers are rookies. One of them being Kyle Lobstein for the Tigers. This rookie has been solid this year for the Tigers after Anibal Sanchez left with a pectoral strain. Lobstein has a 1-0 record with a 3.58 ERA over five games started and six total game. On September 13, he allowed a career high four runs over only five innings.

"He was fine," manager Brad Ausmus told MLB. "He wasn't as much down in the zone as he had been in his previous starts."

The Tigers will end their season with three games against the White Sox, then four games against the Minnesota Twins. All those games at home.

One hitter the Tigers will need to look out for is Jose Abreu. He has been very hot all season long, especially against the Tigers. He has hit .433 with five homers and 13 RBI's in 16 games against the AL Central leaders. Adam Dunn will not be playing for the White Sox because he has been in Oakland for about a month now. That is good news for Detroit because Dunn hit five long balls and 10 RBI's against them this season.

Rookie Chris Bassitt will go for the White Sox on Monday. He faced the Tigers in his Major League debut. He lost 8-4 and gave up five runs over 6 1/3 innings.

Chicago is 48-52 in night games and 6-4 in their last 10 games. Detroit is 56-40 in night games and 6-4 in their last 10 games.
