Top of 6th, 3 out: Billy Butler drives one to the warning track in center field, but it is run down by Mike Trout for the final out of the top of the sixth inning. That might of been Matt Shoemaker's final pitch of the game, as he is just coming back from an oblique injury.

Top of 6th, 2 out: Matt Shoemaker gets Lorenzo Cain to swing at a breaking ball for strike three. A couple pitches after, Eric Hosmer lines a ball into the outfield for a 2-out basehit.

Top of 6th, 1 out: Norichika Aoki flies out to Josh Hamilton, who makes a great play, as he runs down a fly ball in the left field corner.

Between innings, the Royals took Salvador Perez into the clubhouse for further testing, but he is back on the bench and ready with his gear on for the next inning.

Bottom of 5th, 3 out: Josh Hamilton flies out to Norichika Aoki in right field for the final out in the fifth inning. The Angels threaten with a runner on third, but can't cash in, as they still trail the Royals 1-0 heading into the sixth inning.

What a trooper! Salvador Perez will stay in the game after the team trainer performed a couple concussion tests.

Top of 2nd, 1 out: Alex Gordon hits one up the middle for a base-hit, as Eric Hosmer comes around from second to score, as Mike Trout's throw to home is cut-off by Albert PujolsRoyals lead the Angels 1-0.

9:30 PM ET: Game 2 of the ALDS is starting in less than ten minutes.

9:03 PM ET: Josh Hamilton said that when he woke up this morning that his "body was hurting a bit, but that's expected after you haven't played in a couple weeks."

9:00 PM ET: Tonight's game between the Royals and Angels will be broadcasted on TBS.

7:45 PM ET: In Matt Shoemaker's ninth career start, he faced the Kansas City RoyalsShoemaker was roughed up for eight runs in only four innings of work. "It's going to make me tougher," he said after that start. "You learn from it." Well, he sure did learn from that. Since that June 27th start against Kansas City, he has a 11-2 record with a 2.09 ERA in fourteen appearances (twelve starts).

Shoemaker will look to keep Los Angeles from losing back-to-back games to start the ALDS. This game can be looked upon as a must-win game for the Angels, as teams that have taken a 2-0 lead in the ALDS the last thirteen times have won all thirteen. He also hasn't pitched since September 15th due to a mild left oblique strain. Despite this, he will be ready to go as part of the Angels' three-man rotation for the ALDS

7:43 PM ET: Managing only two baserunners since the fifth inning, Mike Moustakas, who had only slashed .212/.271/.361 and had a career-low .281 wOBA this season, belted a solo shot to right field that barely carried over the right field wall. Moustakas' home run in the eleventh was the Royals' first postseason extra-inning home run in franchise history.

Right-handed pitcher Kelvin Herrera walked Angels' David Freese on five pitches leading off the seventh inning and then left the game with right forearm tightness. Herrera, a key member of Kansas City's vaunted bullpen, will be re-evaluated today, the team announces.

7:41 PM ET: In Game 1, the Angels' top three hitters, Mike TroutAlbert Pujols and Josh Hamilton were held hitless by Royals' pitching. Those three, along with Howie Kendrick, who struck out three times last night, combined to go 0-for-18 in Game 1.

The Los Angeles' offense was carried by Chris Iannetta, who homered in the third inning, and postseason hero David Freese, who homered in the fifth inning. Kole Calhoun had the Angels' other two hits of the game, as the league's most productive offense was held to only two runs on four hits all night.

7:39 PM ET: The Royals are coming off a Game 1 win against the Angels. In Game 1, the two clubs were deadlocked throughout the first ten innings of the ballgame. With the score tied a two, Mike Moustakas came up to the plate in the top of the eleventh and delivered a go-ahead home run that would prove to be the difference maker. The Royals won Game 1 by a score of 3-2. This outcome was also helped by the outstanding defense of Norichika Aoki in the outfield.

7:37 PM ET: Tonight's starting pitchers are Yordano Ventura for the Royals and Matt Shoemaker for the AngelsVentura has a 14-10 record on the season, along with a 3.20 ERA for Kansas City. For Los AngelesShoemaker has a 16-4 record, while sporting a 3.04 ERA.
