8:10 PM EST: PLAY BALL

7:53 PM EST: As starting lineups live Giants - Royals vs are commencing for both teams, anxiousness is starting to take over all the fans and players as they are about to embark on a possible two week rollercoaster full of heart break and excitement. How can you not love baseball?

7:47 PM EST: Home field advantage could be a huge factor here in the World Series. The American League defeated the National League 5-3 at Target Field back in July to claim home field advantage for which ever team came out of the American League as the champion. Look for the KC fans to be wild and crazy behind their team giving them an edge in the series.

7:40 PM EST: The 29 year drought from the playoffs for the Kansas City Royals was the longest drought of any sporting team in North America. If they win this series, those heart breaking 29 years will be well worth it.

7:37 PM EST: The ALCS MVP Lorenzo Cain has been known to strike out on fastballs out of the zone more than 30% of the time. Bumgarner likes to thrive on throwing his fastball outside the zone when he is ahead in the count.

7:33 PM EST: Look for Madison Bumgarner to get a lot of swing and misses tonight on Royal hitters with his fastball out of the zone. Kansas Ciy doesn't struck out much but if anybody can change that, it can be Bumgarner with the way he has pitched this postseason.

7:31 PM EST: Pregame ha started and already KauffmanStadium is rocking and covered in a sea of blue. Kansas City fans have been waiting for this moment almost their whole lives. You are not a sports fan if this does not give you goosebumps.

7:18 PM EST: A little under a hour from first pitch now and the excitment is starting to build. If you haven't already check out VAVEL USA's exlcusive World Series Preview wonderfully done by our very own Carl Straut-Collard. 7:04 PM EST: The scene from Kauffman Stadium earlier today before both teams had taken the field was said to be beautiful clear skies filled with a "Royal" light blue, coincidence? I think not...

6:59 PM EST: The weather for Game 1 tonight is expected to be just about perfect. Low 60s will be the temp around first pitch with no wind to be found what so ever. Ideal conditions for a baseball game.

6:47 PM EST: Kansas City Manager Ned Yost sticks with the same lineup he has all postseason. But a good portion of Royals' hitters have struggled against Giants' starter Madison Bumgarner. Aoki is 0-for-13 against him, Escobar is 1-for-6, and both Cain and Perez are a combined 0-for-7 against the lefty.

6:40 PM EST: James Shields faced the Giants on August 9th, throwing a complete game four hit shut out. Hunter Pence is the only Giants player to have faced 'Big Game' James more than seven times in his career.

6:34 PM EST: Giants leadoff hitter Gregor Blanco has faired well aganst Royals' starter James Shields going 4-for-7 against him in his career. But he is the only San Francisco hitter who has had any sort of success against Shields. Both Posey and Sandoval are a combined 1-for-8 against him and Ishikawa is a mere 0-for-3.

6:28 PM EST: The Kansas City Royals will counter with the same starting lineup they have carried all postseason long: 1. SS Alcides Escobar 2. RF Nori Aoki 3. CF Lorenzo Cain 4. 1B Eric Hosmer 5. DH Billy Butler 6. LF Alex Gordon 7. C Salvador Perez 8. 2B Omar Infante 9. 3B Mike Moustakas.

6:20 PM EST: The starting lineup for tonights game for the San Francisco Giants is as follows: 1. CF Gregor Blanco 2. 2B Joe Panik 3. C Buster Posey 4. 3B Pablo Sandoval 5. RF Hunter Pence 6. 1B Brandon Belt 7. DH Michael Morse 8. LF Travis Ishikawa 9. SS Brandon Crawford.

4:55 PM EST: The key player(s) for the Giants is going to be catcher Buster Posey and the entire pitching staff in trying to keep the speed of Kansas City in check. Bumgarner is a left-handed pitcher which will slow the start time of the Royals' base runners but stopping them has proven to be a monumental task for opposing teams this postseason.

4:54 PM EST: MLB announced Monday the umpiring crew for the World Series. Jeff Kellogg will be the crew chief and joining his team will be Ted Barrett, Jeff Nelson, Eric Cooper, Jerry Meals, Jim Reynolds, and Hunter Wendelstedt. Meals will be the home plate umpire for Game 1 tonight. Meals, Reynolds, Wendelstedt, and Cooper will all be umpiring in their first ever Fall Classic.

4:53 PM EST: The ALCS MVP Lorenzo Cain will look to stay hot for the Royals as he has delivered an up-tempo spark to the Kansas City lineup. Cain was 8-for-15 (.533) against the Orioles in the ALCS and on numerous occasions made outstanding catches in centerfield. The pesky Royals will need his speed, bat, and glove throughout the Fall Classic in order to overcome this "Giant" task ahead.

4:52 PM EST: The key for Kansas City will continue to be timely hitting and their dominant bullpen pitching. Wade Davis, Kelvin Herrera, and Greg Holland have been lights out this postseason for the Royals and Yost will likely turn to them early and often in any sort of close game.

4:51 PM EST: San Francisco Manager Bruce Bochy announced a few days ago that OF Michael Morse will serve as the Giants designated hitter in both Game 1 & 2 in Kansas City. Morse played a huge role in the NLCS against St. Louis as he come off the bench as a pinch-hitter in Game 5 and delivered a game-tying home run.

4:50 PM EST: Both the Royals and Giants have show cased they are going to play small-ball. Kansas City has ran all over opposing pitchers with their speed and Manager Ned Yost has shown determined to bunt in any situation to move the runners. Defense has been key for the Royals as outfielders Alex Gordon, Lorenzo Cain, and Nori Aoki have all made spectacular, run-saving gems this postseason.

4:49 PM EST: The San Francisco Giants will be competing in their third Fall Classic in the last five years. Defeating the Texas Rangers in 2010 and then the Detroit Tigers in 2012, the Giants look to continue their streaking postseason run Tuesday night. History is on their side as they have proven since 2010 that after each year they miss the playoffs, they win the World Series. San Francisco missed the playoffs in 2011, won World Series in 2012, missed the playoffs in 2013 and are now in prime position to win the World Series in 2014.

4:48 PM EST: This will mark the first time since October 27th, 1985 that the World Series will be played in Kansas City, Missouri. On that night the Royals topped the St. Louis Cardinals 11-0 in Game 7 to win the World Series. Ironically, Kansas City hasn't lost a playoff game since Game 4 of the 1985 World Series. 2014 marks the first time since the World Series title that the Royals have been involved in the 'October Postseason Madness' and what have they done? Gone 8-0, beating the Oakland Athletics in the one game Wild Card and sweeping both the Los Angeles Angels and Baltimore Orioles. They are the first team in history to win their first eight games of the MLB Postseason.

4:47 PM EST: At the other end of the spectrum the San Francisco Giants are sending their ace Madison Bumgarner to the hill. In both 2010 and 2012 where the Giants were World Series Champions it was due to their strong pitching. Bumgarner has given this San Francisco Giants the same spark this postseason as he has only given up five earned runs in the 31.2 innings he's pitched thus far.

4:46 PM EST: It will be 'Big Game' James Shields taking the mound for the Kansas City Royals tonight. He has been the most consist pitcher for the Royals in their starting rotation this season and even despite a hiccup his last outing against the Orioles, where he gave up four earned runs on ten hits, Shields has the nickname 'Big Game' for a reason and he hopes to stay true to that in Game 1 of the Live MLB World Series.
