Tonight, when the Kansas City Royals play the San Francisco Giants in a winner takes all World Series game, Tim Hudson will be the starter. Tim Hudson has been the leader all season long and with Madison Bumgarner pitching fantastic the decision was stuff. Giants' manager Bruce Bochy chose to go with veteran Tim Hudson. Tim Hudson has never won a World Series is this the season that he finally wins it.

Tim Hudson was drafted twice both by the Oakland Athletics. He was drafted in 1994 and in 1997. In 1997, he signed with the team. June 8, 1999 he made his major league debut for the Athletics. By his rookie season Hudson became part of the Athletics "Big Three" which featured Hudson, Mark Mulder and Barry Zito. It was clear Hudson was going to be a great pitcher. After that the next three seasons Hudson won 14 plus games for the Athletics.

In 2005, Tim Hudson was traded to the Atlanta Braves during the offseason. On August 6, 2005, Hudson won his 100th game against the St. Louis Cardinals. In 2007, Hudson struck out his career high of 12 batters. During the 2008 season Hudson had Tommy-John Surgery. He then missed the majority of the 2009 season. In 2010, Tim Hudson had a new career high for strikeouts in a game of 13. That same season he won the 2010 NL Comeback Player Of The Year. On, June 20, 2011 against the Toronto Blue Jays, Hudson struck out his 1600th batter. On, April 30, 2012 Hudson won his 200th career game.

During the 2013 offseason, Tim Hudson signed a deal with the San Francisco Giants. During 2014, he set a Giants' record of pitching 30 2/3 innings without giving up a walk. In that season he became an All-Star and was one for every team he's played on. On, August 27, 2014 he struck out his 2000th batter.

Despite having played for sixteen major-league seasons, Tim Hudson has never had a World Series Ring. He's pitched in the postseason including the World Series but never a ring. This World Series was his first appearance. It's only fitting knowing the numbers that Hudson had that he's the starter. He's pitched well enough this season to be the starter and with his veteran presence you wouldn't choose anybody else.
