It has been stated that Michael Morse will be meeting with the New York Mets. Mike Puma of the New York Post is reporting the Mets could be considering bringing in Michael Morse for the 2015 campaign.

We already know that the Mets have had their eye on Michael Cuddyer, but with the Colorado Rockies offering a qualifying offer to Cuddyer for one-year worth $15.3 million could eliminate the Mets if Cuddyer rejects the offer and elects costless agency. What does that mean? That means if Cuddyer declines and decides to sign with the Mets, the Mets would lose a draft pick.

Morse, 32, is not a everyday player anymore in the outfield. However he did help bring another World Series trophy to the bay area this season. Everyone that is around this story is saying that they are hearing from other club sources that they see Morse as a everyday DH, not a outfielder.

The Mets are built around young players, maybe that is why everyone was a little surprised when they signed costless agent Curtis Granderson from cross-town rivals New York Yankees. One player that was recently added to the Mets radar was costless agent pitcher A.J. Burnett, but don't hold your breath on having him sign with the Mets due to his reasoning, "I want to play for a contender," said Burnett.

According to a league source the only thing the clubs that in for Morse is his legs and his mobility moving forward. The Mets may also go in another route as well and that could be in the trade market. They would most certainly go for a corner outfielder and the one guy that has popped up is Boston Red Sox's Yoenis Cespedes.
