The Detroit Tigers completed a two-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles, winning 5-4, Wednesday after a rough eighth and ninth inning that almost cost them the game.

Anibal Sanchez started the game and pitched two innings. He gave up just one hit. Ian Krol got in some work during the fifth inning and walked one, but he also struck out a hitter over just one inning. Krol faced just four hitters and proved he has improved since last season.

Blaine Hardy pitched 1 2/3 innings and really struggled. He gave up three runs on four hits, which led to the late-inning disaster. He was lucky that the Tigers were able to pull it out in the end.

Nick Castellanos celebrated his 23rd birthday with a long ball in the fifth inning. He finished 1 for 3 with two RBI's. Anthony Gose normally would play the outfield, but today he got the start as the designated hitter. He finished 2 for 3 in a very impressive game offensively. Jose Inglesias and a few other starters played three innings.

"Three weeks from now I will beat it," Iglesias said to Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press about his speed and getting down the line to beat out bang-bang plays at first base twice.

The Tigers will head back to Lakeland to take on the Atlanta Braves on Thursday. That game will begin at 1:05 PM EST. On the mound for the Tigers will be Alfredo Simon. Julio Teheran will be sent to the mound to duel. The Braves are 0-1, and Detroit is 2-0 to this point in Spring Training.
