It's hard to believe that April is only a few days away. There are not many more game until opening day in Major League Baseball but there are still several Spring Training games in the meantime.

In Saturday's game from beautiful Glendale, Arizona, both Scott Kazmir and Jose Quintana came out and pitched the start of the game beautifully as well. It took a little while for Quintana to settle down though, as he gave up two runs in the first. It started when Josh Phegley hit a double to right field and scored Billy Burns. Tyler Ladenford grounded out in the next at bat but Sam Fuld was able to score from third base to give the Athletics an early 2-0 lead.

Bobby Wahl replaced Scott Kazmir to start the sixth inning and he got roughed up. He gave up two runs on an Alexei Ramirez singled to center field and was able to advance to second on the throw home. Geovany Soto doubled a few batters later to bring Ramirez home and the White Sox held the lead for the first time in the game.

After some more scoring in the seventh inning to tie the game up at 4-4, the Athletics took control of the game in the top of the eighth. Maikel Cieto was on the mound for the White Sox and ended up with the loss. The runs were highlighted by a Jason Pirdie home run to center field and later in the inning Max Muncy doubled to right field on a bases clearing play, because the bases were completely juiced to give the Athletics their 10-4 victory.

Despiting giving up a run in the seventh Chris Bassit got the win for the Athletics in this game, but Brock Huntzinger shut down the White Sox in the bottom of the eighth and Pat Venditte finished the ninth inning. Even more interesting is that Venditte pitched with both his left and right hands in the inning!

The Chicago White Sox will face the Cleveland Indians in a matinee on Sunday afternoon, while the Oakland Athletics will face the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon as well.
