For the 10th time in history, a player has won back-to-back Player of the Week honors. National League five-tool player Bryce Harper made it happen, taking home his second straight award.

In the American League, Seattle Mariners shortstop Brad Miller was named the Player of the Week. The award was given to Miller on July 20, 2013, but never since.

Harper, the Washington Nationals outfielder, led the National League in hitting, slugging, and on-base percentage. He had a .522 average with a 1.087 slugging percentage and a .656 on-base percentage.

The 22-year-old added two doubles, a triple, three home runs, nine RBI, nine walks, 10 runs scored and two stolen bases to his lengthy resume.

Denard Span and Max Scherzer, both teammates of Harper, were considered for the award.

Miller batted .429 with four home runs, three doubles, six runs scored and five RBI over just six games to win the honor that some players dream of receiving. Miller's slugging percentage of 1.143 led all MLB, and he was tied for the A.L. in home runs and total bases.

The 25-year-old saw a majority of right-handed pitchers, which is why he won the award. On the season, Miller has hit .299 with five home runs, and 13 RBI against a right-handed pitcher but just .130 with one RBI against a left-handed pitcher.

Harper is a different story because he succeeds regardless of who is pitching to him. The stud has dominated with a .350 average against right-handed pitchers and a .303 batting average against lefties. However, when he faces a righty, the power numbers fly up.

Either way, both hitters did a great job and will look to carry their outstanding week into the next one and aim for another Player of the Week award.
