The Detroit Tigers blew a 5-0 lead against the Houston Astros, but catcher James McCann produced a heroic walk-off home run to give his team a 6-5 victory in the 11th inning.

The Tigers sent out ace David Price to the mound to face the Astros. Price pitched extremely well until the seventh inning, in which he gave up three runs (two earned runs). Overall, he gave up those three runs on five total hits and just one walk. The left-handed pitcher struck out 12 Houston hitters and tossed 100 pitches.

The Tigers got the offense started with Nick Castellanos, who homered to left center in the fourth inning. The homer scored Yoenis Cespedes and gave the Tigers an early 2-0 lead.

Detroit continued to pound the ball, as Ian Kinsler and Miguel Cabrera racked up an RBI single each in the fifth inning. In the next inning, Rajai Davis doubled to center, which scored Cespedes.

In the seventh, eighth and ninth innings, the Tigers started to fall apart. The run scoring ended with a game-tying pinch-hit home run from Preston Tucker, it was the first of his career.

Tigers closer Joakim Soria blew his first save of the season. He is now 13-for-14 on save situations this year.

After a few innings of free baseball, McCann stopped the game with a walk-off home run to give the Tigers a 6-5 win over the Astros. It was his first outside the park home run during his short MLB career. As a matter of fact, his first home run was an inside the park homer a few weeks back.

The Astros started Scott Feldman and he was touched up for five runs (four earned runs) in the contest. Feldman gave up 10 hits and one walk over 6.0 innings pitched. He struck out just two Detroit hitters and threw 105 pitches.

Tony Sipp took the loss and is now 2-1, but still has maintained a respectable ERA. After the home run, it jumped to a 1.06 ERA, which was up from his previous 0.00 ERA.
