Risers

Mike Napoli, Boston Red Sox: Napoli got off to a poor start this season, batting under .200. However, he raised his average to .203 last week, going 9-21 with five home runs and 10 RBI, giving him 12 on the season. His outstanding performance has helped to turn around the struggling Red Sox' offense.

Kyle Hendricks, Chicago Cubs: Hendricks made one start last week, pitching a complete game shutout. He allowed five hits, walking none and striking out seven. It was his first-career complete game and shutout and his first win of the season.

Michael Wacha, St. Louis Cardinals: Wacha was dominant last week, allowing two runs in two starts over 14 innings, including nine hits, four walks, and nine strikeouts. He picked up two more wins, making him 7-0 on the season with a great 1.87 ERA. Wacha's last loss came over eight months ago -- September 9, 2014.

Cleveland Indians: The Indians went 6-1 this past week, taking three of four games from the Chicago White Sox and sweeping the Cincinnati Reds. They are currently on a six-game winning streak, and they will look to continue it against the Texas Rangers. Cleveland improved to 20-23 on the season but remains in fourth place in the AL Central.

Texas Rangers: The Rangers went 5-1 this past week, and they are currently on a five-game win streak. They scored a league-leading 43 runs, including 30 total runs against the Yankees in their three-game sweep. They are now 21-23 on the season, moving up to third place in the AL West.

Fallers

Brett Gardner, New York Yankees: Gardner, one of New York's best hitters, went just 2 for 18 last week. His poor performance, along with Jacoby Ellsbury's being on the disabled list, has hindered the efforts of the Yankees, who have lost 11 of their last 12 games.

Eric Campbell, New York Mets: The Mets' third baseman went 1 for 23 last week, but he did manage to score a run off his single. To make matters worse, the Mets' primary third baseman, David Wright, was placed on the 15-day disabled list after being diagnosed with spinal stenosis. Danny Muno has taken over temporarily at third base.

Anibal Sanchez, Detroit Tigers: Sanchez made two starts last week, allowing seven runs both times. He combined to pitch 9 1/3 innings, walking four and striking out 13. He is now 3-5 this season, raising his ERA to an ugly 6.12.

Sunscreen: The "foreign substance" sunscreen has been the cause of two ejections and suspensions in the past week. Milwaukee Brewers' reliever Will Smith and Baltimore Orioles' reliever Brian Matusz were both ejected for having sunscreen on their glove arms. Both pitchers were handed eight-game suspensions.

Cincinnati Reds: The Reds went 0-5 last week, extending their losing streak to eight games. Cincinnati was shutout in one game, scored one run in two games, scored two runs in one game, and scored three runs in one game. They are now an unimpressive 18-25 on the season.
