The time has come New York Yankees' fans. Luis Severino is officially on his way to the Bronx.

Although Luis Severino, who was signed out of the Dominican Republic by New York (AL) in 2012, didn't pitch a full season in the pros until 2014, the right-hander showed great potential early in his career by going 7-3 with a 1.59 ERA in 20 starts between the Dominican Summer League (Rookie) and the Gulf Coast League (Rookie).

When the Yankees finally did decide to take the reigns off their six-foot flamethrower that can hurl a fastball at 99 MPH, he made huge strides in the right direction by posting a 6-5 record, 2.46 ERA, and 127 strikeouts (113.1 innings) in 24 starts between Charleston (Single-A), Tampa (Single-A Advanced) and Trenton (Double-A).

To begin the 2015 season, Severino re-joined Trenton (Double-A) and continued to showcase his talent by going 2-2 with a 3.32 ERA and 48 whiffs in eight starts (38 innings) before earning a promotion to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Triple-A). What is the significance of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre you ask? It meant he was one phone call/meeting with the manager away from achieving his life-long dream of pitching in the MLB.

It turned out the New York Yankees' top prospect did not have to wait too much longer to have the meeting as less than two months after his Triple-A debut, Luis Severino has been promoted to the Yankees.

In 11 starts against International League (Triple-A) competition, Severino completely dominated hitters (.184 batting average against) by going 7-0 with a 1.91 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 61.1 innings. In fact, MLB.com's 16th best prospect in baseball is coming off his best performance at Triple-A as he fanned a career-high 10 in six innings, while giving up no earned runs on Wednesday night.

Despite no specific date being announced for his ML debut, if the 57-44 New York Yankees keep Luis Severino on normal rest, he is due to pitch Tuesday night against the hated Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium.
