Troy Tulowitzki, Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion produced mightily to help the Toronto Blue Jays win 5-3 over the Detroit Tigers

The quad combined 5-for-12 with four RBI and four walks in the victory. Tulowtizki hit his fourth home run as a Blue Jay (16th on the season) in the third, Donaldson hit his 35th home run of the season in the third, and Bautista launched a home run of his own in the fifth inning.

R.A. Dickey, who is usually hit or miss, was solid on Friday. The knuckle ball pitcher went 6.2 innings, while giving up just three runs on six hits and one walk. The right-hander struck out six over 94 pitches.

Dickey gave up two home runs in the contest, one to Ian Kinsler and another to Anthony Gose

After Rajai Davis was retired via strikeout to start the first inning, Kinsler wasted no time getting Detroit on the board. He launched a 407-foot home run to give the Old English D a 1-0 lead, but that lead was quickly squandered.

In the seventh inning, Gose hit a two-run shot to right field, but it was to little to late.

Matt Boyd scattered five runs on seven hits and three walks over six innings pitched. The left-hander gave up three home runs, which ended up being the deciding factor in the game.

"I got beat on fastballs in today," Boyd said. "No one beat me on a fastball away. That's just me. I've got to get ahead in counts and I've got to command my fastball better."

The Tigers relief pitchers Drew VerHagen and Neftali Feliz kept the game at bay, as they combined for two scoreless innings of work.

In the ninth inning, Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna picked up his 16th save of the season after striking out the side in the ninth inning.

"That place was rocking," Donaldson said. "That's the loudest I've heard it. It's exciting to be a part of this team right now."

"They're excited in Toronto," Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. "They should be."

The Detroit Tigers (60-68) find themselves in the cellar of the AL Central as they are 19 games out of first place. The Blue Jays (72-56) have won eight of their last 10 games and sit atop the AL East, 1.5 games ahead of the New York Yankees.

Detroit will send right-hander Buck Farmer (0-2, 7.80 ERA) to the mound Saturday. In 27.1 innings on the road, Farmer has allowed an astronomical 24 earned runs.

Toronto called up Drew Hutchinson (12-2, 5.06 ERA) after a short stint in Triple-A. This will be his first start in the big leagues since August 16th, and luckily he will be at home where he is 10-1 with a 2.57 ERA.
