While 2012 draft picks Carlos Correa (1st overall), Addison Russell (11th), Corey Seager (18th), Michael Wacha (19th), Marcus Stroman (22nd), and Stephen Piscotty (36th) are busy partaking in a pursuit to bring a World Series championship to their individual teams, the 13th overall pick from the 2012 MLB Draft Courtney Hawkins is looking more and more like a poor selection by the Chicago White Sox as the outfielder will be unable to participate in Arizona Fall League due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot.

Although Hawkins, who was drafted out of Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, soared through the organization in his first professional year by reaching Single-A Advanced Winston-Salem, Chicago's 9th prospect has had three very suspect seasons at the plate, totalling for a .223 batting average and 47 home runs (between Single-A Advanced and Double-A). Additionally, the 21-year old has proven to be injury prone considering he has only been able to suit up in an average of 98 games per full season.

This season a thumb and foot injury limited Hawkins to only 78 games, in which he hit 9 home runs and drove in 41 RBIs with a .243 average for Double-A Birmingham.

Due to his inability to continue his 2015 campaign this October and November, Hawkins joins Keon Barnum (.257 BA, 9 HR, and 67 RBIs with Winston-Salem this season) as the second top 30 prospect unable to make up for lost time in the "graduate school."

Chicago White Sox's 6th prospect Trey Michalczewski will join the Glendale Desert Dogs as a replacement for Hawkins. Michalczewski finished his 2015 season hitting .259 with 7 home runs and a Winston-Salem high 75 RBIs.

This year's Arizona Fall League action begins Tuesday with a full slate of games that includes Mesa versus Glendale, Surprise taking on Peoria, and Salt River hosting Scottsdale.
