After not being able to sweep away the Toronto Blue Jays, the Texas Rangers were looking to finish things off at home against the Blue Jays and head off to the ALCS.

The Blue Jays have been on the brink of elimination twice after losing the first two games of the series and have needed to be at their best. Monday afternoon in Texas, they weren't too shabby.

The story in this one was the Blue Jays offense. Right off of the bat they got things going off of Rangers starter Derek Holland. It started right off of the bat in the first inning when Josh Donaldson, the second batter of the game, blasted a two-run home run to give Toronto an early lead. Later in the inning, Chris Colabello hit a solo shot and the Blue Jays had a 3-0 lead before the Rangers stepped to the plate.

Then in the second inning, Kevin Pillar wanted in on the fun and he hit a solo home run, as well.

The third inning was the inning where the Blue Jays really took control of this ballgame. It started off with an Edwin Encarnacion fielder's choice which forced in Josh Donaldson. Then, a Chris Colabello RBI double and a Kevin Pillar RBI single had the Blue Jays up 7-0.

Holland lasted just 2+ innings for the Rangers giving up six runs on five hits with no strikeouts and one walk. Colby Lewis ate up some innings pitching three innings in relief.

In the bottom of the third, the Rangers tacked on one run by way of a wild pitch which scored Shin-Soo Choo from third. Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin couldn't contain a knuckle ball by Dickey.

After the third inning, the offense slowed down.

R.A. Dickey lasted 4.2 innings giving up just one run on five hits while striking out three before he was relieved by Blue Jays ace David Price. With Price taking the mound in relief, that most likely means he may not pitch the in decisive game five matchup in Toronto.

The Blue Jays did tack on another run in seventh as Kevin Pillar continued his hot hitting day with another RBI single this time driving in Russell Martin to extend the Toronto advantage to 8-1.

Texas wasn't going away without a fight as they tacked on a run in the seventh off of Price by way of a Robinson Chirinos RBI single. Then in the eighth inning, as Mitch Moreland forced in a run on a ground out and Elvis Andrus hit an RBI single to make it 8-4.

It wasn't a fantastic outing for David Price as he went three innings giving up three runs on six hits while striking out three.

Nonetheless, Roberto Osuna came in in the ninth inning and set down the Rangers 1-2-3 to preserve the win and force a game five.

Game five will take place Wednesday in Toronto for a winner take all game to advance to the ALCS.
