Mark Trumbo hit two home runs in the Baltimore Orioles 4-1 victory over the New York Yankees on Tuesday night at Camden Yards. This victory gives the Orioles a 15-10 record, while the loss drops New York to 8-16 on the season.

Yankees' young ace Luis Severino continues to struggle this season. He lasted six innings but gave up 5 hits and four runs. Severino ended the night with a 6.31 ERA, lowering it by 0.55, and an 0-4 record.

Things though, started on the right foot for the Yankees tonight, plating the first run of the game. Chris Tillman, tonight's winning pitcher improving to game, got into trouble in the second inning of the game. Brian McCann drew a four pitch walk, then Carlos Beltran singled on a liner to center field. Starlin Castro gounded into a double play, Didi Gregorius dug into the dirt and smacked a single between the second baseman and the short stop. This brought in McCann from third as he scored the only Yankee run of the game.

Trumbo's blasts help Orioles take the lead

In the bottom of the second inning, Baltimore struck back. Trumbo was down to his final strike in the at back and hit a 96-mph fast ball into the left field bleachers.

"Unfortunately, I've been on teams that are down and you want to take care of business. You want to rack up the wins when you can. If a team is unfortunately scuffling, you want to be at your best to capitalize on those opportunities.," Trumbo said after the game. On his two home runs, he added that, "That was more reaction. Two pitches I maybe normally don't handle quite as well ended up working out today."

Baltimore, in the bottom of the fourth, got their second run of the game, and it came with two outs in the inning. Jonathan Schoop doubled to the right side of the outfield. Then, with a bit of help from Mark Teixeira and Severino, Schoop was able to score from second on a ball hit to the infield. Teixeira fielded a ball hit by Ryan Flaherty. Teixeira flipped the ball to Severino who was racing over to get to the bag, but dropped the throw.

The home side scored two more runs off the bat of Trumbo in the bottom half of the fifth inning. Manny Machado reached second base on a double to left field. Then, two batters later, Trumbo stepped to the plate again. This time, he connected on a changeup down and in and belted it over the left field fence again.
