New York, NY-

According to the New York Times and two people close to the teams plans, New York City FC will play the first three seasons starting in 2015 at Yankee Stadium. Since being announced as a team of Major League Soccer last May, constant chatter of where the team will call home have been swirling. Most believed that the newly minted MLS side would play at Yankee Stadium considering the fact that the team is jointly owned by the ownership of the New York Yankees and Manchester City FC of the Barcalys Premire League in England. Team officials -back in January of this year informed the league that a stadium plan would be in place in thirty days. The deadline and further stadium deadlines have since passed which angered MLS officials and potential fans. Previous stadium plans in Flushing Meadows were halted due to concern from the local community. Other stadium plans included a 25,000 - 30,000 seat stadium between the Major Deegan Expressway and East 153rd Street. Those negotiations were held back in August and no further negotiations for stadium plans have been held since.
