The UFC is set to make it’s debut in the the Philippines and will come with two of the most recognizable names in the sport. Urijah Faber (32-7) is one of the few fighters that has crossed over into the mainand is known in as many circles inside the cage as out. He faces Frankie Edgar (18-4-1) who is just as known, and at a time was one of the best 155ers in the sport. These two guys will headline a Fight Night card live from Manila at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 16th. The five round main event will air live on Fox Sports 1 and will be a featherweight bout.

It’s been sometime since since Faber has fought at 145, but there is no concern that he will look as fluid as ever in the heavier weight class. His last win came against Francisco Rivera Jr. back in December at UFC 181. This move up in weight probably will not last for Faber as he is still in the top five of the bantamweight division. Frankie Edgar has sparked a little resurgence in his career riling off wins against Cub Swanson, BJ Penn and Charles Oliveria. He will have his eyes on the winner of Aldo - McGregor fight but may possibly but with a win against Faber he could cement himself as one of the greatest fighters of all time in the lighter weight division.

There have been more announcements made to the card for the Manila event. In lightweight bouts, Tae Hyun Bang takes on Jon Tuck and Zhang Lipeng faces Kajan Johnson. At 125 pounds, Yao Zhikui battles Nolan Ticman and the Philippines' own Roldan Sangcha-an meets Jon Delos Reyes, and in the welterweight division, Li Jingliang squares off with Roger Zapata.

Tickets will go on sale in March. Stay tuned to for more information as well as fight card announcement.
