The historic weekend for mixed martial arts has come to a conclusion. In an overwhelming display the true face of the UFC, women's bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey decimated her opponent Cat Zingano in record fashion. After a flying knee from Zingano, a toss by Ronda lead to a scramble that allowed her to grab a hold of the arm of Cat and submit her in only 14 seconds.

Truly upping the bar on last night’s impressive 46 second finish by her nemesis. In the co main, we saw a tough as nails split decision won by Holly Holm as the “Preachers Daughter” notched her first victory in the UFC. Tony Ferguson, Jake Ellenberger and Alan Jouban all notched wins tonight by finishing their opponents convincingly.  It was a faced paced night that was full of luster in front of a crowd of A-list actors who are all mma fans.

Many felt Cat Zingano (9-1) was truly the toughest test to date for Ronda Rousey (11-0) but once again the champ would rise above expectations. The strategy to rush the touted grappler may have not been a bad, but it clearly was not successful tonight. This will be a tough loss for Cat but if one thing she has proved is she will come back stronger from this.

Ronda has a few eyes on her and it does not just involve the woman who fought the night before. We will have to see how soon the champ will want to get back in the cage again and who will be her opponent across the way. Regardless Rousey is a hot ticket and the biggest star in the UFC.

Holly Holm looked great in her debut against Raquel Pennington edging out a split decision. If Pennington could have gotten underneath the range of Holly early this could have been a different fight. Holm is a very imposing figure in the octagon and her legs will be tough to deal with.

She took some big shots from Raquel in the third but was still able to pull off the win with a great combination of not only her striking but fending off the takedown of Raquel. Holm could use a few more bouts before she sees the champ but maybe a fight with Marion Reneau would be appropriate with them both being two exciting new comers.

Jake Ellenberger is set to prove he is still one of the top welterweights in the world and his last two fights are showing it to be true. While he fell to Kelvin Gastelum in his last fight that did not slow him down from taking it to Josh Koscheck (17-9).

An early back and forth on the feet seemed to hurt Koscheck and immediately he began wiping his eye. Cleary having seeing difficulties he repeatedly retreated out of the way of Ellenberger’s attack. Jake fought off the attempted takedowns and during a clinch locked in and guillotine of which Koscheck tried to spin out of. That took them to canvas and where Jake locked his north and south submission to finish the former original member of The Ultimate Fighter.

Both Tony Ferguson (18-3) and Alan Jouban (11-3) made quick work of their opponents finishing them in the first round. For Jouban he landed a devastating elbow which made Richard Walsh (8-3) lifeless. Referee John McCarthy stepped in before Alan could really do more damage.

Gleison Tibau (31-11) is no easy out but the game of Ferguson was too much for him. Tony is one of these young mixed martial arts fighters that’s gifted everywhere and to submit someone with the pedigree of Tibau is huge. This guy will shoot up the rankings of 155 and proved he has no issues at all stepping up in levels of competition.

While many would have liked to see a little more from out main event you can’t take away from the dominance of the champion Ronda Rousey. UFC 184 put the nail in the coffin for a weekend that mixed martial arts kidnapped Hollywood. The full results from UFC 184 are listed below.
