With the shuffling of the deck going on in the light heavyweight division a fight we assumed could be possible in the upcoming months would be Ovince Saint Preux (18-6) and Glover Teixeira (22-4). Yesterday it was announced that the two will face each other on August 8th for UFC Fight Night Nashville. The event will take place at the Bridgestone Arena and be televised on Fox Sports 1. OSP is a former University of Tennessee Volunteers player.

Before a loss to Ryan Bader, OSP was on a fast track to looking like a contender in the 205 division. After his loss he has regained his composure by completing two impressive first round finishes of Shogun Rua and Patrick Cummins. Glover will be his toughest test to date and a huge implication on how the division can sort itself out.

Glover is a fighter who has reached the pinnacle of title contention and wants to return there soon. After scoring impressive wins against Ryan Bader, James Te Huna, and Rampage Jackson, the hard hitting Brazilian came up short against the former champion Jon Jones. He also lost a three round decision to the now Bellator competitor Phil Davis. He is looking to end this two fight skid with a win over the dangerous Preux in August.

The only other fight announced for this card so far will be another battle in light heavyweight division between TUF 19 alum Matt Van Buren (6-4) and Jonathan Wilson (6-0) who will be making his UFC debut after fighting in the California regional circuit.

Look for more updates to the Fight Night card in the upcoming weeks.
