A very exciting and pivotal match up in the women’s bantamweight division has been secured. It was announced today that the talented striker Holly Holm (8-0) will be facing an equally impressive striker in Marion Reneau (6-1). The preacher's daughter will face the full time PE teacher on the rare Thursday Fight Night Card in San Diego.  The event is headlined by a fight in the heavyweight division between Frank Mir and Todd Duffee.

Holm made her much anticipated debut with a hard fought decision over TUF season 18 alum Raquel Pennington. The performance hushed many critics opinion on the contendership status of Holm and actually propelled the popularity of Rocky. She will look to silence the doubters with an impressive performance but it won’t come easy against Reneau. The former boxing world champion will have her hands full.

Marion is somewhat of an enigma. After a cancelled bout in Invicta against Irene Aldana she stepped right into the octagon and won a scorcher of a fight against now Bellator fighter Alexis Dufresne. It was actually hard to watch as Marion put a lethal beating on her competitor. She followed that up just a mere two weeks later with a win over the heavy favorite and possible contender Jessica Andrade back in February. With the school's closing for the summer this PE teacher is ready to fight and should provide a great match up for Holm.

Yosdenis Cedeno (10-4) has also been announced to the upcoming UFC 189 card on July 11th. The Blackzilian fighter will face Cody Pfister (11-4-1) in a solid lightweight match up. Both athletes are coming off a loss some expect some fireworks in this one.
