Irish super-middleweight Jason Quigley has suggested he remains confident for his fight on Friday night, unfazed despite not knowing who his opponent is just 24 before the clash.

Residing in California, Quigley currently holds a 100% knockout ratio, winning all four of his competitive fights in impressive fashion. Competing on the undercard of Yoshihiro Kamegai v Alfonso Gomez at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, his foe is yet to be unveiled in a six-round bout.

Nevertheless, he has claimed his amateur schooling has prepared him for any opponent, saying: “That’s the great thing about coming from such a high-class amateur background. I prepare in the gym and I let my opponent worry about me.

“If there’s any footage on my opponent then great, I’ll look at their weak spots to see what I can capitalise on, but if not I’ll get in there and let them worry about me. I’ll do my plan, I’ll do what I’m good at. I’m not worried who I come up against. I know that I train hard every day.”

The Donegal fighter will be hoping to secure a fifth early finish, having last fought just two weeks ago against Lanny Dardar. Beating Howard Reece in his first competitive fight back in July 2014, Quigley has also seen off Fernando Najera and Greg McCoy.

He added: “If it comes, it comes. It’s great to get these knockouts and these early stoppages because it shows all the other middleweights what I’m all about. It sends a statement.

"I get in the ring ready to go 12 rounds and if it happens to be over in the first round, mid-way through the fight, in the last round or if I win on points – I get in there to get the job done.

"Plans change as soon as you step through those ropes. You might have to go to plan B straight away so you have to be prepared. But if these knockouts keep coming, of course it will be great for me.”

Jason Quigley weighed in for the fight at 161.8lbs.
