Bowling Green, Kentucky took on Bonita, California in a elimination game in the 2015 Little League World Series. The game got going quite quickly between two great teams.

Bowling Green pitcher Eli Burwash started off the game giving up a base hit to Antonio Andrade. The next batter Levi Mendez lined hard out to first base. Then the third batter of the inning grounded to third, but the throw to second went array and the runner scored all the way from first. Then, after a wild pitch with two out, the runner from third scored making it 2-0 California. Burwash, after a walk, gave up a single to Schimd, but the right fielder made an error. The run managed to score, making it 3-0 California. However, Burwash would get out of the inning but the damage had been done.

After a groundout to start the bottom of the first, Carson Kelley grounded out on a two-hopper to third, making two out in the inning. The next batter grounded out against Schimd for the third ground ball out of the inning.

Nick Maldanado led off the top of the second for California with a groundout to Kelley at shortstop. Cameron Barbabosa would also lineout to Kelley. With two on and two out, Mendez crushed a three-run homer to left field, making it 5-0 California. However, nothing more would come of the inning.

Starting off the bottom of the second Devin Obee singled through the right side and then Maddox Burr struck out. After a wild pitch, Obee advanced to second with one out. Carson Myers proceeded to strike out, followed by a Ty Bryant strikeout to end the second inning.

Kelley led off the bottom of the fourth for Kentucky with a double to the right field wall. After a pop out, a walk put runners on the corners with one out. Burr then struck out to make it two outs in the inning. Myers then singled past the shortstop, getting Kentucky on the board and cutting it to a 5-1 California lead. That brought up John Morrison with runners on first and second. He would take a wild pitch and the runners advanced to second and third. A walk to load the bases would end the day for Schimd, and they would bring in Nate Nankil to pitch. The first batter he would face would be Will Buser. Buser took a wild pitch scoring the runner from third, but then struck out. The score was 5-2 through four innings.

California’s Andrade led off the fifth with a bomb to right field off Burwash, making it 6-2 California. Mendez, who had already homered, struck out swinging. Following him, Nankil doubled to left center putting one on with one out. A single brought Nankil to third with one out for Jacob Baptista. Baptista proceeded to take a wild pitch which scored Nankil from third, but nothing more came out of the inning keeping it a 7-2 California advantage.

For Kentucky in the bottom of the fifth, Burwash would ground to first with one out. Then Kelley mashed a solo homer to left, cutting into the California lead, 7-3. After a single by Jones, Obee came up and grounded out to third to end the fifth.

After California tagged on four more in the top of the sixth, they lead by eight going into the bottom of the sixth. Nankil worked a quick bottom half and California won the game 11-3 over Kentucky.
