This award could have gone a couple of ways but in the end it ended up in the hands of the right person. Phoenix Suns point guard Goran Dragic who averaged a team and career high 20.3 points while shooting a ridiculous 50.5% from the floor is the 2013-14 "NBA's Most Improved Player".

Dragic played well all season long for first year head coach Jeff Hornacek who had the utmost faith that his undersized backcourt of Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe would be able to help carry his Suns squad to big things this season. When Eric Bledsoe went down in the middle of the season with a knee injury though, people thought that it would spell the end for the Suns and their chances at a winning season.

That was not the case however because of the stellar play of Dragic who was a big reason for the Suns being on the brink of making the playoffs. The Suns finished the season with a record of 48-34 which ended up being a game short in the standings for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West that ended up going to the Dallas Mavericks.

Dragic received 408 out of 1,134 possible points to snag this award including 65 first place votes. Indiana Pacers guard, Lance Stephenson, finshed second in the voting with 158 points and 13 first place votes, with Anthony Davis, coming in third with 155 points and 16 first place votes.
