Thanks for tuning into VAVEL's live coverage of the 2014 NBA draft lottery!

8:38: The 76ers have the 3rd and 10th pick in the deepest draft in a few years. They also have Nerlens Noel who was drafted last year, but did not play. The 76ers could vault into contention with the right picks. Before the draft, there were rumors that they were shopping Thaddeus Young. The only way that i see this happening now is Philadelphia trading the 10th pick and Young for an all-star caliber player.

8:38:The Sacramento Kings will also want to move up. If they cant, however, they are not likely to trade the pick for a low price.

8:37:The Charlotte Hornets will most likely attempt to trade up in the draft, or trade their pick.

8:35: Milwuakee failed to secure the 1st overall pick in the draft. The Bucks had a 25% chance at the pick

8:31: The Jazz have the 5th pick in the draft. This isnt a great position for them. The Jazz wanted Embiid, Randle, Parker, or Wiggins, which are now almost definety going to be the top 4 picks. My modified prediction for the Jazz: They keep their pick and select Dante Exum

8:29: The Cavs selected Anthony Bennet in last years draft with the 1st pick. Many considered this a bust. The Cavs will have alot of pressure on themselves this year to make a good selection. This selection could very well decide Kyrie Irving's future with the team

8:28: and yes, it was not a typo, the 76ers will have the 3rd and 10th pick in the draft!

8:27: This could mean that Joel Embiid may go #1 in the draft!

8:26: for the 3rd time in 4 years, the Cavaliers have the 1st pick. The Cavs have to replace their head coach, after firing Mike Woodson

8:26: 1st pick in the Draft goes to the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2nd consecutive year!

8:24: 2nd pick goes to Milwuakee Bucks

8:24: And the 3rd pick goes to the Philadelphia 76ers

8:23: This has been interesting so far. The Lakers have the 7th pick. This could be a very good position for them

8:21: 4th pick goes to Orlando Magic

8:21: 5th pick goes to Utah Jazz

8:21: 6th pick goes to Boston Celtics

8:21: 7th pick goes to Los Angeles Lakers

8:21: 8th Pick goes to Sacramento Kings

8:21: 9th pick goes to Charlotte Hornets

8:21: 10th pick goes to 76ers

8:21: 11th pick goes to Denver Nuggets

8:21: 12th pick goes to Orlando Magic

8:21: 13th pick goes to Minnesota Timberwolves

8:20: The 14th pick goes to Pheonix Suns

8:17: just 3 times in the last 20 years the team with the highest probability has won the first pick on the draft

8:17: Kyle Singler is representing the Pistons

8:17: Markieff Morris is representing the Suns tonight, interesting

8:10: This lottery will also help teams decide on a head coach to hire. It could also start to form possible trade possibilities for Kevin Love.

8:08: 4 of the 5 teams without a head coach are at the draft lottery tonight. The only team that isnt is the Knicks

8:02: Wiggins also stated yesterday that he deserved to be the number 1 pick in the draft. Today he stated that he thinks he can do alot of damage in the league because of the amount of open court and one-on-one play.

8:00: The Pheonix Suns have an extremely small chance at winning the first pick (.5%), but if they do, their team could be a contender next season.

7:59: Also, remember that this years draft is much deeper than last years. This means that 2nd round players will also be much better.

7:54: NBA news: Adam Silver stated today that "confidence level is high" on NBA being able to force Sterling to sell the Clippers

7:47: Another VAVEL writer, Connor Deitrich has a live event for game 2 of the Heat - Pacers series. Go check out his event here

7:46: Noah Vonleh is also a sleeper in the draft. He is very efficient in the post. His strong points are rebounding and blocking. He should be taken somewhere in the top 10

7:42: Another NBA event happening tonight: The Miami Heat take on the Indiana Pacers for game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Pacers took game 1

7:36: Adam Silver noted again today that the NBA would like to raise the minimum age for NBA players to 20. He says that he still needs to bring the NCAA on board.

7:28: The Draft lottery is the introduction to the NBAoffseason. The lottery will allow teams to start discussing pick trades, or draft day deals.

7:00: The Draft Will Start at 8:00 EST

7:00: Having the first pick in the draft it crucial to the Bucks. The Bucks need a youthful star on their team, that they can rely upon, and build a team around. They will be looking to get back on track after after a terrible season, and being sold. The Orlando Magic don't necessarily need the first pick. The Magic just need a young, talented player that can score on the offensive end, and play proficiently on defense. This player could be any of the top 4 picks.

7:00: Wiggins is the other player that has a shot at the first pick. Wiggins’ play in college wasn’t as dominant as some expected, however he has still played at an elite level. As numerous NBA scouts have stated, Wiggins has the highest ceiling of any player entering the draft. This alone could make him the first pick.

7:00: Parker is a good bet for first pick. No matter the team that gets the first pick, Parker will most likely be chosen (unless the pick is traded to a team who doesn't need him). Jabari has been extremely consistent in his college career, and has played at an outstanding level.

7:00: The top two picks will most likely be Parker and Wiggins, however it will all be decided by the draft order that is chosen tonight. Randle, Embiid, Exum, and Smart will be the next picks, but again the order will be determined by the lottery tonight.

7:00: The Celtics will be very specific in their choice they won't want a post player, and they may reach farther into the bag of draftees and select Marcus Smart.

7:00: The Orlando Magic will also take the best player available regardless of position. This could completely throw off the order that players are expected to go in.

7:00: At one point Wiggins seemed to be a lock for a one-and-done college appearance, and the number 1 pick in the draft. Now, Wiggins could fall to 3rd. Wiggins' freshman season wasn't as impressive as most people expected. Wiggins may still be drafted 1st, as he is widely seen as the player with the highest ceiling.

7:00: The number one pick on the draft is still up on the air. The Bucks have almost locked up the pick with their disastrous season, but the player to be picked is not known yet. The Bucks are not deep in any position, so they will most likely pick the best player in the draft regardless of position. Many consider this player to be Jabari Parker.

7:00: Breaking: Minnesota to host the 2018 Super Bowl. They beat out New Orleans and Indianapolis to take it. The last time they hosted it was in 1992.

7:00: Detroit's pick will go to the Charlotte Hornets (formerly the bobcats) if it ends up being outside of the top 8. There is a 16.78 percent chance of this happening.

7:00: New Orleans' pick will go to the Sixers, unless it ends up being in the top five. There is a 1.58 percent chance of this happening.

7:00: If the draft order holds as predicted, New York would give up its pick to the Magic.

7:00: Minnesota's pick will go to the Suns if it drops out of the top 13. There is a 1.8 percent chance of this happening

7:00: Other NBA news: Evan Turner will play in game 2, after missing game 1 with strep throat.

7:00: The lottery will start at 8:00 eastern standard time. The lottery is the most important off-season event of the year behind the draft itself. The draft lottery allows teams to start their offseason plans. Many teams will start shopping their picks, or shopping for picks after the lottery.

7:00: The most anticipated picks in this year's draft are: Julius Randle, Dante Exum, Jabari Parker, Joel Embiid, and Andrew Wiggins. These will almost definitely be the top 4 picks.

7:00: The Knicks are the only non-playoff team that is guaranteed to lose their lottery pick. Their pick will go to the Denver Nuggets.

7:00: The lottery will determine the first three picks of the draft. The final 11 selections will be based on regular-season records.
