The Portland Trail Blazers signed Keith Appling to a contract to play with their summer league team. Appling, a 6'1'' guard played for Michigan State, averaging 11.2 points and 4.5 assists. Appling will be another player in the slew of young players that have decided to play on the Blazers summer league team. Some of these players include: Will Barton, Allen Crabbe, Joel Freeland, Meyers Leonard, CJ McCollum, and Thomas Robinson. Other non-Blazers that will play on the team include Jonathan Gibson, Bobby Brown, and Craig Brackins, and Davion Berry.

Davion Berry, the Big Sky conference MVP and Weber State alumn, will also play for the Blazers summer league team. Berry, a guard/forward, played two seasons at Weber state, where current Blazer guard Damian Lillard played. Berry averaged 19.2 points and 4.2 rebounds. He also shot 39% from the three point line. Barry is very similar to Damian Lillard. He was born in Oakland, as well as playing at Weber State. He is a three point specialist, and is now playing on the Blazers summer league team. It is likely that if he plays well during the summer league, that the team will sign him to a contract.
