Reggie Williams has agreed to a one-year deal with the Miami Heat, reports Shams Charania of RealGM. The complete terms to Williams’ contract are unknown. There is no indication whether his deal will be fully, partially, or non-guaranteed.

Williams played last for the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he showed up in three total games and was later waived. On May 10, 2014, he signed with the Philippines team San Miguel Beermen. Williams has an NBA-out option on his contract with the Philippines team.

Williams went undrafted during the 2008 NBA draft. He played overseas in France in 2008. He then returned to the states and began playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the D-League until the Golden State Warriors signed him.

Williams was brilliant in 24 games with the Warriors during the 2009-10 season, averaging 15.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. His career has gone downhill since his rookie season.

The Miami Heat will now give him a chance as they have been thin at the shooting guard position. Heat signed Tyler Johnson to a non-guaranteed contract a couple of days ago, and now Williams to attempt to shore up its backcourt.

Reggie Williams could potentially provide some bench scoring for the Miami Heat this season if he is able to receive substantial play time.
