One day after showcasing his skills with the Dominican Republic team against Team USA, Francisco Garcia has earned himself an NBA contract. He will re-sign with the Rockets on a one-year, veteran’s minimum deal worth $1.32 million, reports Houston Rockets’ beat writer Jonathan Feigen.

Garcia joined the Rockets during the 2012-13 NBA season and has been re-signing one-year contracts with the team since. He averaged 5.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game last season.

Francisco’s role on the team is to spot up and shoot threes coming off the bench. He also supplies feistiness on the defensive end.

On Wednesday, Garcia’s Dominican Republic team squared off against Team USA, and Garcia played a magnificent game despite his team losing big. He scored an efficient 14 points in about 20 minutes of play. Garcia showed off some of his dribbling and shooting skills that evening as well.

Meanwhile, the Rockets continue to fill in their bench. Earlier in the off-season, they signed Trevor Ariza, Joey Dorsey, Jeff Adrien, Kostas Papanikolaou, and Ishmael Smith. They also re-signed Troy Daniels.

With Francisco Garcia returning, the Houston Rockets roster now stands at 15.
