Ray Allen has yet to make a decision on his future. He is still mulling retirement but may also continue to play for at least one more year.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers have both joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Ray Allen sweepstakes, should the 39-year old sharpshooter choose to continue his career.

Allen, during his 18th year in the league, averaged 9.6 points and 2.8 rebounds for the Miami Heat last season. Many believe he will join his ex-Heat teammate LeBron James in Cleveland.

A few weeks ago, there were reports suggesting that Allen will make his decision in September, which could very easily be the case since training camp starts later that month.

The defending champion Spurs would love to add more three-point shooting to their already steep bench. Meanwhile, the Clippers, who waived newly acquired Carlos Delfino and Miroslav Raduljica on Friday, want to add a wing player who won’t demand a lot of money and could shoot threes. Allen fits that bill perfectly since he would most likely play for the veteran’s minimum.

Furthermore, the Dallas Mavericks have also pursued Ray Allen and may still be in the hunt. Dallas does lack shooting guard depth on their roster, so Allen would suit them well.

In addition to Allen, the Spurs would also like to bring back Aussie big man, Aron Baynes.

Ray Allen’s future could be determined in the following weeks. Stay tuned.
