Brazil blew out Iran 79-50 in the group stages of the 2014 FIBA World Cup at  Palacio Municipal de Deportes de Granada in Granada, Spain.

Iran was leading 18-17 after the first quarter, but a 23-6 run in the entire second quarter led Brazil to the win. They did not have any reason to slow down and had a 39-26 advantage in the second half.

It was a collective team effort for Brazil, as five players had 8 points or more. Alex Garcia led them with 12 points, and Leonardo Barbosa followed suit with 11.

Mohammad Jamshidi was Iran's top scorer with 13 points. Mehdi Kamrani was right behind him with 11.

Iran shot 37 percent from the field and 21 percent from beyond the arc compared to Brazil's 57 percent and 33 percent. Brazil also generated 33 points off 21 Iran turnovers.

Brazil, 2-0, will play their next game tomorrow, September 1st, against Spain at 4:00 pm ET in what looks to be a great matchup.

Iran, 0-2, takes on Serbia tomorrow at 9:30 am ET.
