Senegal pulled off arguably the biggest upset in the FIBA World Cup group stages by defeating Croatia 77-75 at Palacio Municipal De Deportes San Pablo in Seville, Spain.

With 19 seconds left and Senegal leading 75-72, Kunoslav Simon missed a three-pointer that would have tied the game at 75, forcing Croatia to intentionally foul.

Mamadou Ndoye made two costless throws with five seconds remaining to seal the victory. Damjan Rudez made a three as the game clock expired, but it was too little, too late.

Gorgei Deng, a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Senegal's only NBA player, exploded for 27 points and 8 rebounds. Xane D'Almeida followed suit with 15 points. Senegal shot a remarkable 46 percent from threes.

The 12th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft and future Phillidephia 76er, Dario Saric, scored 15 points, pulled down 6 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists. Future Brooklyn Net Bojan Bogdanovic also scored 15 but shot just 1-7 from three-point distance. As a team Croatia shot just 26 percent on three-pointers, which can be credited to Senegal's swarming defense.

Croatia, now 2-1, plays their next game on Wednesday, September 3rd, vs. Greece at 1:00 pm ET.

Senegal, also 2-1, plays Argentina on Wednesday at 11:30 am ET.
