Over the past couple of weeks, the Sacramento Kings have been busy dumping salary and signing players. Their most recent move was signing Ryan Hollins to a one-year deal. Now, to shore up their backcourt, the Sacramento Kings will sign Ramon Sessions to a two-year, $4.2 million contract, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrain Wojnarowski.

Sessions’ contract will be fully guaranteed with no options included. The Kings have now used their bi-annual exception.

The 7-year veteran has been an NBA journeyman. The Sacramento Kings will be his sixth different team. He has previously played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Charlotte Hornets.

Sessions split his year between Charlotte and Milwaukee last season, averaging 12.3 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game.

It is unclear whether Ramon Sessions will earn a starting role with Sacramento with Darren Collison also on board, but the Kings do have big plans for him as they see him as a combo guard, according to Sam Amick of USA Today Sports.

Sessions can absolutely add a scoring punch to the Kings backcourt along with solid play making and ball handling. He has great size for a point guard and loves to attack the rim often times on offense. Sessions was one of the best costless agents remaining on the market and was also previously drawing interest from the Houston Rockets.

Once Sessions officially signs his contract, the Kings will have 20 players on their roster, meaning their training camp roster is set. However, out of the 20 players, 7 of them have non-guaranteed contracts.
