Nazr Mohammed will return for a 17th season as he has re-signed a one year deal with the Chicago Bulls, the Bulls official Twitter has announced.

Mohammed averaged 1.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 7.0 minutes per game in 80 total games for the Bulls last season. He will continue to serve as a backup center to Joakim Noah.

However, the Bulls have added plenty of depth this off-season, so Mohammed’s minutes may decrease even more. Though, the Bulls still want the extra depth in case of injuries. Mohammed is a savvy veteran with great physicality and size on defense. Even if he does not receive much playing time, Mohammed could mentor some of the young guys, such as Nikola Mirotic, Doug McDermott, and Cameron Bairstow.

Chicago most recently signed E’Twuan Moore to a partially guaranteed deal. They have made fantastic moves this summer and with Nazr Mohammed, they now have 14 players on the roster.
