The Los Angeles Lakers have announced that they have signed shooting guard Wayne Ellington. According to Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News, Ellington's contract will be partially guaranteed.

Wayne Ellington has been bouncing from team to team this off-season. He started with the Dallas Mavericks and was traded to the New York Knicks before the start of costless agency. The Knicks were uninterested in keeping him, so they traded him to the Sacramento Kings a couple of weeks ago. Ellington was later waived by the Kings. Now, the Lakers are the new owners of the 5-year veteran.

Ellington averaged 3.2 points last season with the Mavericks while shooting a career best 42.4 percent from three-point range. Ellington averaged 8.7 minutes and showed up in 45 total games. He has played for four different teams – the Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Mavericks.

Ellington will serve as a third shooting guard on the Lakers roster behind Kobe Bryant and Xavier Henry. The Los Angeles Lakers now have 14 players on their roster.
