On Tuesday afternoon, the New Orleans Pelicans announced and revealed their new alternate jerseys with Anthony Davis, Eric Gordon, Austin Rivers and newly signed Jimmer Freddette. This exact day, September 23, last year the New Orleans Pelicans announced their home and away jerseys for the new year under the new name, Pelicans. It was only fitting that one year later the Pelicans would announce their first alternative jersey for the next NBA campaign. The new jerseys still maintain the 3 primary colors that the Pelicans were advertising this time last year. These jerseys maintain the navy and gold on the side whilst obviously bringing out the red.

A lot of New Orleans fans are pleased with the new jerseys because it now says "Pelicans" across the jersey in big letters, which a lot of fans wanted last year but got New Orleans in small letters instead. Amongst Pelicans fans, there is also the idea that if the Pelicans were to make the playoffs, red would be their choice of shirts because the idea of all navy shirts is just not that appealing now, is it?

This writer is all for the alternate jerseys. They are bright and look nice but good thing they are only an alternate. What are your thoughts on them? Let us know!
