Evan Turner, 6'7" out of Ohio State, drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 2nd overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft, has signed a two year contract worth $3.278 million per season, according to Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today.

Turner spent last season with Philadelphia and then was traded to the Indiana Pacers to play the last 27 games of the regular season. Turner was supposed to help the Pacers' offensive firepower, but never panned out as that, averaging just over 7 points per game with the Pacers.

The Celtics made a nice move here picking up Turner. Although he struggled in Indiana, Turner has an offensive skill-set that can be beneficial to any team. The Celtics got him for cheap as well.

In preparation for this move, the Celtics waived guard John Lucas III and forward Malcolm Thomas.

A change of teams, city, and scenery can hopefully help Turner. Turner still has a lot of potential and his lack of success in Indiana could be credited to the whole team's problems that the Pacers were having. Only time will tell.
