The runners-up in last season's NBA Finals, Miami Heat, now 2-4, rallied from 11 points down at halftime to defeat the Houston Rockets, who move to 4-2 in this preseason, by a score of 90 to 85.

Miami did not look very good during the first 24 minutes of play as the Houston Rockets took it to the Heat in their own arena and stormed out to an 11-point lead at the break. But they made the necessary halftime adjustments and played much better defensively as they outscored the Rockets by 16 points in the second half, led by Dwayne Wade's 26 points. Wade also had 6 assists on the night as the Heat shot 34-73 from the field.

"It was a competitive game. It finally felt like a normal game. We want to keep on pushing forward, we have a lot of work to do with this team. Our guys understand that," said Miami Heat head Coach Erik Spoelstra after the game.

This was a good momentum builder for the Heat heading into their final preseason game and into their first regular season game as they showed that they can battle back and make the opposition work for the win, even if this might be a little bit of a rebuilding year for them.

The Houston Rockets came out scorching hot as they scored 28 points in the opening quarter and held a 10-point lead, which expanded to a 11-point lead at halftime. Dwight Howard and James Harden played really well tonight and looked like they were ready to get the season started today, as the two stars combined for 19 points apiece. They looked complacent going into the third quarter and finishing the game. Now, it is preseason still, yes, but Coach Kevin McHale will have to be disappointed in giving up a double digit lead after starting extremely strong.

Houston will have to regroup rather quickly as they travel up the middle of Florida to play the Orland Magic tomorrow night. Meanwhile, the Miami Heat will face the Memphis Grizzlies Friday evening in their last preseason game
