The Phoenix Suns wrapped up their successful preseason with a close 105-100 victory over the Utah Jazz Friday night.

There was a lot of offense early in this game as the Suns were outscored by the Jazz 33-28 in the first quarter. Both Gerald Green and Goran Dragic had seven points in that first quarter. Both teams cooled off drastically in the second quarter as they only put up 37 points combined.

The Suns faced a 51-47 deficit at the half and were down double digits for a good portion of the game. But they stuck around and finally got a somewhat comfortable lead of 97-91 with less than three minutes remaining.

Both Goran Dragic and Isaiah Thomas led the Suns with 18 points, while Markieff Morris had 17, and Eric Bledsoe had 14. Thomas' 18 off the bench were critical in this game, due to Utah's lack of bench production. Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 24 points, while Alec Burks had 20, Trey Burke had 12 on just 5-of-14 shooting, and Enes Kanter had 10. Three-point shooting was eratic on both sides as the Suns shot just 7-28 (25%) and the Jazz 8-25 (32%).

The Suns start the regular season next Wednesday at the US Airways Center against the hated Los Angeles Lakers. The Jazz will play the Houston Rockets on October 29 for their season opener.
