It’s official. Nick Young has confirmed that he will indeed play on Tuesday against the Atlanta Hawks, according to Evan Barnes of the L.A. Daily News.

The Defensive Player of the Year is here today and he’ll be here Tuesday,” Young told Barnes.

Well, maybe not the Defensive Player of the Year, but Young certainly was a terrific sixth man. He averaged 17.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game in 55 games off the bench last season. The Lakers could really use his scoring and three-point shooting this season with the bench struggling and suffering due to injuries.

The seven-year man will definitely bring that spark and energy once he returns to action. The game against the Hawks on Tuesday will be the first of three road games for the Lakers, who will face the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks afterward.

I love the game and to see them struggle, I wanted to be out there with them. If we lose, we lose together,” Young continued.

Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant, who played through an illness Friday night against the San Antonio Spurs, is expected to play Sunday against the Golden State Warriors, reports Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News.

With Ryan Kelly’s return on Friday and Nick Young’s imminent return on Tuesday, the Lakers are finally getting healthy.

Next up, the Lakers will look to use their disabled player exception they received from Julius Randle’s injury to sign someone, perhaps Quincy Miller, who will meet with the Lakers on Thursday.
