The injury bug continues for the Los Angeles Lakers, as Xavier Henry has suffered a torn left Achilles’ tendon and will miss the remainder of the season. He will have surgery tomorrow morning.

Henry suffered the injury Monday morning during practice. The Lakers were having 3-on-3 scrimmages when Henry went down with the injury. Right away, the Lakers believed that Henry tore his Achilles, and an MRI confirmed their beliefs.

Xavier Henry becomes the third Laker to suffer a season-ending injury - joining Steve Nash and Julius Randle. He was slowly recovering from offseason knee surgery and was trying to find his rhythm. Henry played a couple of games in the D-League most recently to regain his confidence and shake off the rust.

After putting up career highs across the board last season, Henry only showed up in nine games this season and averaged 2.2 points per game on 23.1 percent shooting.

As a coach, all you could do right now is go with what you got and keep these guys working. You got to stay positive, obviously, and a lot of that depends on me, which I am always positive, so we’ll be fine,” said Byron Scott after seeing another one of his players go down with an injury.

With Ryan Kelly out for six weeks as well, the Lakers are now eligible to apply for a hardship exception, which would allow them to sign a 16th player to the roster, and the Lakers may do just that. They have been interested in a handful of players and should definitely make a move as soon as possible. However, once Ryan Kelly recovers, the Lakers cannot keep 16 players on their roster.

In addition to Henry, the Lakers went through practice without Carlos Boozer (shoulder) and Ed Davis (ankle). Boozer is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies, while Davis is listed as probable.

It’s been a miserable year for the Los Angeles Lakers, as the injuries don’t stop. Right when they get a little healthy, other guys go down with injuries. We'll just have to see how they will push through them for the remaining 68 games.
