DeMarcus Cousins dominated with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists and Omri Cassipi added 22 points as the Kings defeated the Pelicans on Tuesday night 99-89.

"We had a little adversity at halftime with the whole coach situation," Cousins said. "So I just tried to come out and be aggressive, hit them in the mouth early and get our team rolling."

The Kings not only are sitting at 9-5 now, on a 3-game road streak, but also defended Anthony Davis really well. The Kings held Davis to 14 points and 9 rebounds. Tyreke Evans knocked in 22 points but Anthony Davis has been such a monster to start the season and to hold him to a low game is huge for the Kings. Not many teams have done so to Davis.

"We just didn't play any kind of team basketball tonight," Pelicans coach Monty Williams said. "They just outplayed us."

The Kings have blown multiple big leads this season, and to get this win after holding a lead is big for confidence purposes. The Kings had already lost to the Pelicans previously and they seemed to have fix some of their mistakes even being without Rudy Gay who had an achilles injury and Darren Collison with a quad injury.

"They had two specific plays at the end of the game that killed us and I think we did a great job of defending that this time around," Cousins said.
